To simplify calculations, space is broken down into voxels
and an average value for acting forces is found from the
equations for each voxel. Voxel stand for Volume Pixel. Each voxel has pressure at the centre and velocities at the faces. A fill property is also applied. For modeling liquids, the fill property is empty, full for liquids, surface for voxel between empty and full, and obstacle for solids. Here are a couple of examples of voxel divided space.
